California's Going Green...With or Without You!
Don't Miss Out...Discover Your Path

Did you know California is transitioning to 100% clean energy by 2045—and by 2035 in Los Angeles County?
This historic shift is changing how we power our homes, businesses, vehicles, and cities. It’s creating new jobs, lowering energy costs, and reshaping California’s economy.
But without clear information and access, many communities risk being left out of the benefits driving this transformation.
That’s where the Minority Renewable Energy Project of California (MREP CA) comes in.
We exist to ensure California’s urban marketplace has an equitable understanding, access, and opportunity to participate in the state’s emerging clean energy future.
About Us:
California's Need for a Just Transition Ecosystem
MREP CA is a nonprofit organization created to address one of California’s most pressing challenges: ensuring the state’s transition to clean energy is both effective and just.
California’s clean energy goals promise lower emissions, healthier neighborhoods, and economic opportunities. However, many communities remain disconnected and without guidance, access to training, and financial support to participate.
This gap highlights the need for a just transition ecosystem—one that ensures the benefits of clean energy are accessible, understandable, and achievable for all.
MREP CA was established to help meet this need.
We support urban communities by helping residents, workers, property owners, and organizations understand why clean energy matters and how to navigate the transition in tangible, practical, and meaningful ways.

Linking Power, People, and Possibility- Piece by Piece
Did you know California is transitioning to 100% clean energy by 2045—and by 2035 in Los Angeles County?
Our Guiding Philosophy:
A Framework for a Equitable Transition
At MREP CA, our work is guided by a unified philosophy we call the Urban Sustainability Model- a structured framework designed to guide individuals, businesses, and communities from clean energy awareness to long-term engagement and adoption.
We believe the clean energy transition is not a single moment, but a cycle- one that requires the right pieces to come together in the right order.
Each phase of the model- Awareness, Access, Application, and Adoption- represents a critical piece of the puzzle. When aligned, these pieces form a complete pathway that supports a just, durable, and community-centered transition.
Successful progression through this cycle ensures that people are not only informed about California’s clean energy transition—but understand it, trust it, benefit from it, and ultimately champion it.
What We Do:
A Just Transition Ecosystem in Action
MREP CA’s Ecosystem of Clean Energy Services is designed to respond to the most critical questions shaping California’s clean energy transition:
-
What are the benefits of living sustainably?
-
Where do opportunities and resources exist?
-
How do communities realistically move toward clean energy adoption?
-
And what policies must be supported to ensure an equitable share in the green economy?
Guided by the four-phase framework of our Urban Sustainability Model, our Ecosystem of Services translates these questions into action.
From clean energy education and workforce resources to sustainable development and community advocacy, each MREP CA offering represents a distinct yet interconnected piece of the transitional puzzle—working together to create a clear, achievable roadmap for long-term, equitable sustainability.
